Match Report | The women travelled to Aberdeen for their first outing of the year. We had a mixed team with some regulars some school kids and some new faces as well as a borrowed GK from Granite City our opponents. The game started brightly enough even though we had so many forwards we had decided to play a 2 - 3 - 5 formation. It was definately alie to us as the 2 defenders were constantly trying to get in on the attack. A little unlucky to go a goal down half way through the first half when Becky Ward managed to trip over something?? and leave their striker a run on goal which she of course converted. Spirits undaunted we managed to create a few good chances with Kyle Ely on the wing and Jess Ross, Olivia Tait and Morgan Hutchison all looking dangerous in the D.Just before the half we won another corner and Amy Rowan Levelled the scores. The second half was more one sided with Wanderers having lots of chances and stringing together some good passing moves. One of these moves saw Kyle hit the post and another saw Morgans high shot brilliantly save by their keeper. Another corner proved to be the decider and an Amy Rowan mishit did the damage. Overall it was a good run out for all the players and we will move on to the CALA tournament next week. |
