Ladies 1 Vs Hillhead

With Hillhead having a poor record in terms of wins this on paper looked like a victory, ther margin of defeat had usually been only 2 or 3 goals so the challenge was to try and win big.

It looked good when in the first 10 minutes we managed to win 2 corners and go 2 - up with both from Amy, the latter screaming into the top corner. We continued to hold the upper hand but sadly a lapse in concentration let them in with a scrappy goal. As usual Julie managed to score only for it to be disallowed (its a conspiracy) but Vikki managed to get the third before the half for a 3 - 1 lead at half time.

The second half was a more assured performance and soon we were all over them and winning corners and free hits; one of which Vikki managed to deflect home. Two minutes later Rachel crashed home a corner and another 3 minutes passed before we scored another corner with a deflection from Jen. 6 - 1 and cruising and again we let it slip for them to score their second. This was a bit of a kick in the ass for us and Amy Vikki and Rachel all scored again to finish 9 -2.

This was a significant scoreline and takes us to the highest scoring team in the league, the first time we have ever been in this position. Was it not for our weekly lapses we might well also have the best goal difference!
