Ladies 1 Vs Edinburgh Uni

After a tense week of wrangling about pitches and start times the game against EU finally went ahead at St Georges school. We wasted no time in getting on the score sheet and in the first minute Julie carried the ball across the top of the D Amy nipped in behind and deflected a nice pass beyond the keeper for 1 - 0

 We kept the pressure on them and in 13 minutes won our first corner which Vikki clattered off the bar and they breathed a huge sigh of relief. A temporary respite, as 5 minutes later from our next corner Heather deflected home for 2 - 0. From here it should have been plain sailing but a 5 minute spell of sloppy play cost us 2 corners and although they were not text book they scored both so Half Time is now 2 - 2

The second half saw a response from us and we pressured them well and won a corner which Rachel struck sweetly into the goal for us to regain the lead. This time there was no letting up and immediately after the keeper was forced into some great saves to keep them in it, but as in the first half Julie threaded a ball into Amy in the D and she shelled it into the net for 4 - 2. Two minutes later it was all over as Vikki flicked a corner low into the goal for the final score of  5 - 2.

Good spells but a sloppy 5 minutes cost us 2 goals.
