Our first game back outdoor and the game started optimistically when winning a short corner in the first minute however the rebound flew over the bar. Wanderers continued to apply lots of pressure however with no outcome. Watsonians then managed to send a long ball behind our defence where they were able to score past emma holmes in the goal. Wanderers continued to apply the pressure with another sucker punch when another long ball resulted in a penalty corner which they converted. Half time 0-2. Wanderers came out in the second half with the same determination when jaclyn duncan drove strongly into the d when former player izzy fung continually stick tackled her resulting ina penalty stroke which jenny gerrard scored. This spurred the wanderers on. After a number of uncoverted penalty corners including a jude mcmullan strike which rebounded off the post, she then converted with the next corner with a smacking shot through the goal keepers legs. Final score 2-2 |
